  Restaurants in Cumbuco

Sabor da Praia

This simple restaurant is family run and serves up a great range of dishes, at very good prices. The restaurant its self is open and inviting and with the grill outside you can watch the fresh meats and fish being cooked. The friendly service adds to the vibe here, you will find a great mix of locals and tourists all enjoying good fresh dishes. Recommendations are the Pork ribs and the Picania along with the whole grilled Pargo fish. All the meals come with… Chips, Rice, Grilled Potatoes and an excellent large salad. Everything is priced for 2 people, but they happily serve single portions. Also on the menu are soups, crepes and spaghetti. Overall a great place with excellent service, nice mix of people and great value.

Gauchos
The original grill and meat restaurant in Cumbuco, and still going strong for a good reason – the meat here is excellent, masterfully cooked on a charcoal grill. Now much larger, with capacity for a hundred or so people Gauchos is essential to visit. Popular with both tourists and locals you’ll always find it has people eating and enjoying the atmosphere and large amounts of fresh meats. We recommend the filet minion with garlic, the rib of cow and the Picania – its all very good! All meals are served complete with chips, Rice and Salad, prices are very good. When in Cumbuco you much visit Gaucho’s, at least twice!

The Italian
For the best pasta and pizza you need to head slightly outside of Cumbuco to the nearby village of Tabuba (3km from Cumbuco). The Italian restaurant here is by far the best for Pizza, all of which are cooked to order in the wood fired oven. The service is friendly and very good, they serve a good collection of wines. Value wise it is excellent, two people can eat and drink for R$20. For certain its worth the short drive or bus ride to visit.

0031.com
The Dutch owned and run restaurant opened in ’06 and raised the standard here in Cumbuco. With a perfect location on the beach front in central Cumbuco and a sophisticated and beautiful dinning area on a mezzanine floor you have to visit 0031 when in Cumbuco. All the food is cooked by the Dutch Chef and proprietor, Yanika – who has found great ways to put original and wonderful twists of flavour to favourites such as the Burrito, Setae and Thai Curries. The service from Roel and his team is excellent, looking after you extremely well. After enjoying the great food and atmosphere you have to have a coffee – its the best in Cumbuco, and you cannot refuse the homemade Dutch Apple-pie. We highly recommend you eat in 0031, don’t miss out on wonderful food and a great atmosphere.

Hi-Life Beach Bar

Situated right on the beach the Hi-Life bar has a chilled out atmosphere with comfy sofas and chairs which provide a great place for friends to relax under one of the barraca on the sandy beach… the great bar servers up excellent cocktails and ice cold draft beer… The best bit of Hi-Life is the music, provided by resident DJ Hari Jariwala from the UK– playing a unique mix of tunes 5 nights a week, with a party night on Fridays.

Laranga Macanica Bar

The Dutch owned Laranga Macanica is located on the beach front in the centre of Cumbuco. The most modern and “European” of bars in Cumbuco its become a focal point of the villages nightlife. Seemly always you will find a crowed of people in the Laranga, a mixture of tourists and locals – all enjoying the drinks, atmosphere and wide selection of music that’s played. The Laranga opens at 4pm and closes when the last customers leave – which is regularly around 5am. Typically Friday and Saturday’s are busiest, however that doesn’t mean a random Tuesday night won’t really rock...

Located right in the centre of the village The Point is a great bar serving beers and cocktails as well as light meals. Owned and run by Karen who provides an upbeat and lively atmosphere. You will find a mix of locals, tourists and many regulars at the Point which is open from 5pm until the early hours of the morning.
